Open Book Toronto

openbooktorontoI have something to share. It’s a little essay I wrote for Open Book Toronto’s  At the Desk series: where writers are asked to share their creative process and the workspaces that inspire them.

Interesting to me, was the sting of shyness that took over as I went on to reveal that my studio doubles as my bedroom. Who knew I had such an underlying insecurity with this topic? Is it because I equate professionalism with a studio separate from one’s sleeping quarters? Perhaps. Well, whatever it was, I’m now over it and proud to show off my space. I’d like to give a special thanks to Grace O’Connell for including me in this series.
