just taking a gander

I’m working on a series of children’s books right now: the subject matter being heavily animal-based and so I couldn’t be happier. One of the spreads is a panorama of migrating Canadian geese (flying, swimming, waddling — you name it), and so I was delighted to run into a bunch while riding along the lakeshore today. Aha, I thought to myself, a good chance to take some reference shots. What I didn’t realize was how photo shy geese were…I’d move an inch, they’d move ten.
