Floppsy

My very first pet as a child was a white rabbit named Floppsy.

My dad had constructed a spacious cage in his workroom for her out of scrap boards and chicken wire. And there my sister and I would poke carrot sticks through the door and marvel at her chewing abilities.

Admittedly I can’t remember much about Floppsy, except that my mother used to sweep up her droppings and toss them into the many potted plants scattered about our house. An early lesson in fertilization.

This piecce reminds me of reading Bunnicula as a child. What a classic that one was. Good work, Ash!

Porcupines perusing pine trees from #SizingUpWinter ❄️❄️❄️ @owlkidspublishing Listening Ears Has anyone else’s cat grown a thick winter coat, like over night? Nori is a fur blob now. (portrait by @kevincwwong) I didn’t draw houses and trees as a kid... I mostly drew women with floor-length hair wearing medieval dresses. If I find them, I’ll post them sometime. 😂 Remember when the sun used to set at 9pm? 😩 Nap time at Riverdale Farm. Making lots of babies.......(the cut-paper kind) for my next book with @owlkidspublishing That’s my mom, in the blue sweater, about to sweep! 💙
