I haven’t yet read Gulliver’s Travels, but I remember watching a two-part television series of it as a kid and really liking the story. My favourite chapter was when Gulliver discovered a herd of talking horses called the Houyhnhms.

At the time I had pleaded and pestered my father into recording the entire series on VHS, assuring him that I’d watch it multiple times after.

Alas, I failed to follow through with my promise and Gulliver’s Travels sat on our shelf untouched for years. I think we eventually taped over it.
